Why I Love What I Do:

I love what I do, and I became an intake attorney, because of my past. I had a long love affair with drugs and alcohol and everything that went along with that lifestyle. When my love affair went sour I found myself in the criminal court system, fighting to stay out of jail or prison. An attorney who could not be bothered to explain what was happening to me sent me racing to the law library where I researched cases like mine, taught myself what was happening at the hearings, the possible consequences of my actions and how, by fighting and not giving up, I could avoid a serious sentence. After my case was over (yes, after I got my attorney to listen to my ideas, I avoided a lengthy jail sentence!) I cleaned up my act and focused on getting into law school. Now, many years later, I am able to do for others what no one did for me – my mission is to be a caring, compassionate and understanding attorney for our clients, taking the time to explain the court system and what to expect at the various stages, what consequences they are facing and how we can help. No one should face criminal charges alone and I love being part of the team that gets to change people lives – 1 case at a time…
